"What are your services?"
These days we do almost exclusively coaching, but we do have some options for getting what you want out of consulting.
"Do you do custom training plans?"
Yes! We bill them as “Consulting,” and generally charge about $125/month.
"What sports do you work with?"
While we focus on mountain sports (skimo, mountain running, mountain biking), we’ve helped athletes in all sorts of interesting niche sports, like motocross, obstacle source racing, through hiking, etc. If you are breathing hard during your event, we can probably help!
"What levels of athletes do you work with?"
We work with all levels from beginner to pro, but most of our athletes end up being 30-50 year-old intermediates. We like to say that we don’t always work with elite athletes, but we really like to work with elite mind-sets. If you want to get BETTER, it doesn’t matter where you start from, we can help you get to the next step.
"What is your coaching philosophy?"
First and foremost, we believe in athlete ownership. A lot of our process is structured around you the athlete owning the process. We find this significantly increases the results of our athletes!
Second, we believe in quantifiable results. We use benchmark workouts to make sure you’re actually improving, and not just guessing.
Third, we believe in the long-term. While we do work with athletes for 3-4 month blocks, we’d much prefer to work with you for a couple years, as this is where you’ll see the truly life-changing results.
"Do you prescribe strength training too?"
Yep!
"Do you do nutrition planning?"
In certain cases we’ll help with the basics of fueling exercise, but for day to day nutrition help we work with and highly recommend FlyNutrition.org!
"Why should I hire you?"
Because we’ll make you faster, and we’re fun. What else matters?
"Who isn't a good fit?"
Oooh good question.
1. Elite road racers, elite road runners, most triathletes. These disciplines are pretty specific, and there are other good coaches who specialize in them!
2. People who want their coach to hold their hand. We believe strongly in athlete ownership of the process.
